A pleasant morning that really heated up. I'll be happy to get a break from this!
Regardless, a terrific morning at Horses of Tir Na Nog. This is a beautiful sanctuary located in Descanso that provides a safe haven for horses and other animals that have few options, and ensures them a better life. While I enjoyed spending time with all their residents, I did have my favorites. Buttermilk is a Palomino/Paint mare who is relatively blind. While I was photographing her she followed me around like a puppy. Amy Pay, who runs the sanctuary, said that if she likes you she'll use you as her guide around the grounds. I got a lovely profile of Buttermilk that will be in my exhibit. My other favors were the small herd of Mustangs that live at the back of the property. They were friendly and sweet and very curious of my cameras. They made me laugh so many times as they tried to get close to me, and I had to clean nose marks of my lenses frequently.
These horses live a safe and happy life with the support of sponsors and donations. Please consider supporting this wonderful organization with your time as a volunteer and/or your financial support. www.horsesoftirnanog.org
